Goldman Sachs Wants To Return TARP Funds

As I've expressed in previous blog posts, recipients of the billions of dollars of TARP funds were going to be uncomfortable with the strings that were attached to the TARP funds. The most recent evidence of this discomfort is Goldman Sachs statement that they want to repay the TARP funds as soon as possible. Although they did not cite a specific reason, it is safe to assume that the combination of executive pay limits, accountability for where funds are spent and living under a microscope (financial institutions cannot continue to spend frivolously without coming under immediate scrutiny) are at the root of the problem. Interestingly, giving the money back is easier said than done. Read the attached article for more info.
